Samsung is working on two new phones whose processing chips have been revealed. The company has already started developing the Galaxy A17 (4G), which will be launched towards the end of this year, and the Galaxy M36 is closer to being launched.

Galaxy A17 4G uses MediaTek chip

A new Samsung device with model number SM-A175F was spotted in Geekbench's database. Going by Samsung's branding track record, the new phone will be launched as the Galaxy A17 4G.

It uses the MediaTek Helio G99 processor, which has two Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at 2GHz, six Cortex-A55 CPU cores running at 2GHz, and the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The chip was launched two years ago. The Galaxy A17 (4G) appears to feature 4GB RAM and runs Android 15 (One UI 7.0).

The Galaxy A16 (4G) was announced in October last year, and the Galaxy A17 could also be announced around the same time this year. However, considering that One UI 8 will debut in July, it is puzzling to see Samsung still testing the Galaxy A17 (4G) with One UI 7.0. Whether the phone will debut with One UI 7 or One UI 8 onboard remains to be seen.

As usual, we expect to see a 5G version of the Galaxy A17 with either an Exynos chip or a MediaTek Dimensity chip.

Galaxy M36 could launch soon as it gains Bluetooth certification

Another Samsung phone with model number SM-M366B/DS has been spotted in the Bluetooth SIG database. It is the Galaxy M36 5G, which has not been announced yet. We also spotted the phone's support webpage on Samsung UAE's website. It shows that Samsung is close to launching the Galaxy M36.

A previous report had made it clear that the Galaxy M36 uses the Exynos 1380 processor and 6GB RAM and runs Android 15.

It is likely based on the Galaxy A36 but uses an inferior chip made using Samsung Foundry's 5nm process. In comparison, the Galaxy A36 features the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, which is made on TSMC's 4nm process. The upcoming phone might have the same camera setup, battery, and charging as the Galaxy A36.
