While Samsung is yet to release its Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update to many high-end and mid-range Galaxy smartphones and tablets, last week, the South Korean tech giant offered it to the entry-level Galaxy A05s, surprising everyone.
However, Samsung had made it available only for the variant of the device it sells in Africa and Asia. Now, the brand is rolling out the update to the variant of the phone that it sells in Central and North America. It has the model number SM-A057M.
The latest Galaxy A05s software update carries firmware version A057MUBU9DYE5. Along with Android 15 (One UI 7.0), it also packs the May 2025 security patch, which fixes issues mentioned here, making the device more secure.
To update your phone, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. If you don’t see an update, it means that Samsung hasn’t made it available for your unit, and you may have to wait a little more for it. If you don’t want to wait, go to our firmware section, download the firmware, take a Windows PC, install Odin, and flash the firmware on your device manually.
Samsung is also testing Android 16-based One UI 8.0. However, the Galaxy A05s isn’t eligible for the update. While that’s a bummer, the update doesn’t bring major changes, which means that you aren’t missing out on much. If you are still feeling left out and if that's making you think of upgrading to a newer phone, you should take a look at the Galaxy A26.
