Galaxy A36, Galaxy A26 get new software updates

Last week, Samsung announced the June 2025 security patch, which fixes 19 security issues. Initially, the company offered it to its latest non-foldable flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S25 series, and then to the Galaxy A56. Now, the brand is rolling out the latest security update to its more affordable siblings, the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A26.

According to Galaxy Club, Samsung is offering the update to the variants of the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A26 that it sells globally, carrying model numbers SM-A366B and SM-A266B, respectively, in Europe. The new firmware for the Galaxy A36 has version A366BXXU2AYE3, and that for the Galaxy A26 has version A266BXXU3AYE6.

How to update Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A26?

To update your Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A26, open Settings, scroll down until you find Software updates, tap on it, and select Download and Install. The phone will check if there is a software update available, and if it finds one, the device will notify you about it.  

The phone will now download the software and prepare it for installation. While it does that, you can continue to perform other tasks on the phone. Once the device is ready to install the update, it will ask you if it can restart. If you give the approval, it will shut down, finish the installation, and restart.

At the moment, the latest firmware files for the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A26 aren’t available in our database, but we will soon make them available. You can then download it from our firmware section and install it manually on your devices using Odin. Speaking of software updates, Samsung’s Android 16-based One UI 8 is coming soon to the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A26.
