While Chinese smartphone brands are offering upwards of 100W charging speeds for their phones, Samsung is sticking with a maximum of 45W fast charging for Galaxy phones. However, it offered a charging upgrade to the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra that many don't know about.
Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra can charge at 45W using in-box USB cable
The Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra can charge at 45W (Super Fast Charging 2.0) using the USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable that comes in their boxes. Earlier phones (like the Galaxy S24) could only charge at 25W using the bundled 3A cable, and 45W charging required a 5A cable (10V and 4.5A).
Samsung's latest high-end phones now support charging at 15V and 3A, making the total power 45W. Thus, they support Super Fast Charging 2.0 with the bundled 3A cable. You don't have to buy a 5A cable to utilize 45W fast charging like you had to earlier.
Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra users can now use any USB PD PPS charger that supports 45W charging with the bundled 3A USB cable. That saves both time and money, as you don't have to spend time searching for a 5A cable and buying it.
Using 45W fast charging, the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra can charge up to 75% in 30 minutes and up to 100% within 60 minutes (1 hour).
