After releasing the May 2025 security patch to the Galaxy S25, Samsung has released a new and mysteriously huge software update to it.

You might think it brings a new security patch to the devices in the lineup, but it doesn't. It still uses the May 2025 security patch, which means the update might include several bug fixes and performance improvements. Or, it could very well be the pre-One UI 8.0 update.

You can read more about the Galaxy S25 here.

A new software update with firmware version S93xBXXU3AYE7 is rolling out to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The update has a download size of around 1.2GB for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but it could vary slightly depending on whether it is for other models in the lineup. It still uses the May 2025 security patch.

As usual, Samsung just says that the update brings bug fixes, improved device stability, new and improved features, and performance improvements. However, the company has not revealed which parts of the phone's software have been improved. The official changelog is mentioned below.

The usefulness of the device has been improved. The update includes, among other things

  • Improved device stability and bug fixes.
  • New and/or improved features.
  • Further performance improvements.

To optimise the capabilities of the device, you should check for software updates regularly.

If you have a Galaxy S25 series phone (not the S25 Edge) and live in Europe, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update is downloaded completely, tap the Install now button to start the installation process, and the phone will then restart after a few minutes.

You can also download the firmware file from SamMobile's database and flash it manually using a computer running Windows OS and Odin tool.

This software update could be released in other regions and countries over the next few days.
