Gboard custom sticker creation is about to get a lot easier. Google looks set to roll out a new upgrade for its keyboard app that will let users make Pixel Studio stickers right from Gboard—no need to open a separate app.

Until now, Gboard has made it simple to share Pixel Studio stickers with a dedicated tab in the sticker picker. But if you wanted to create a new sticker, you had to do it inside Pixel Studio first. That could soon change. According to an APK teardown by the folks at Android Authority, they found evidence in the latest Gboard beta (version 15.4.4.755290236-beta-arm64-v8a) that Google is testing a feature that lets users create and manage stickers from directly within Gboard itself.

Here’s how it might work: Once you sign into Pixel Studio through the keyboard, you’ll be able to make new stickers by uploading a photo or typing out a prompt. You’ll also be able to add or delete stickers from your collection, making the whole process more seamless. There will be some limits at launch, like restrictions on certain image types, language support, and no image generation of humans (for now).

The feature is still in early development and isn’t live for users yet. The latest beta does not include UI changes, but the code clearly states that Gboard custom sticker creation is on the way. Google also appears to be developing an AI meme generator for Gboard, though that’s not out yet either.

If you love making your own stickers, keep an eye on Gboard updates. This upgrade could make custom stickers faster and more fun than ever.
