We suppose it had to happen at some point—Google and Fitbit recently announced that Google Assistant support will be removed on certain Fitbit devices, with users receiving emails of the gradual shutdown. As such, the Fitbit Versa 3 and Fitbit Sense will lose Google Assistant support after years of access to the feature.

Unlike the Fitbit Versa 4 and Sense 2, the two aforementioned models launched with Google Assistant support, in addition to compatibility with Amazon Alexa as an alternate option. Part of an announcement over at the official Fitbit Community forums reads:
Over the next few weeks we will be progressively phasing out Google Assistant on your Fitbit device… This change means that Google Assistant voice control for activities will soon no longer be available on your Fitbit device…
You can still continue to use Amazon Alexa voice assistant in certain languages and countries on your Fitbit devices.
This isn’t the first time that Google has continued to implement changes with the Fitbit brand, however. Over the past couple of years, the company has reduced availability and support for Fitbit devices across different regions and even shut down the Fitbit website, although it clarified that Fitbit watches aren’t going away anytime soon.
