The closer we get to the next Unpacked event, the more certain it seems that Samsung will release its first-ever Fan Edition foldable phone this year. It's been tentatively named the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and a new report from Korea claims to have uncovered some interesting facts about the device, initial production, and possible chipset and color.
The report says that Samsung wants to produce 240,000 Galaxy Z Flip 7 units and 170,000 Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE units in the second quarter of the year. Production should begin next month. If these figures are even close to accurate, they suggest that Samsung estimates the standard Flip 7 variant to outsell the Flip 7 FE and remain the top-selling foldable in its lineup.
Interestingly, the report also states that the initial Galaxy Z Fold 7 production run for Q2 will consist of 160,000 units, meaning that Samsung may produce the Flip 7 FE in slightly greater quantities than the Fold 7.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly be available in four colors, but the report predicts that a new product rocking the same CoralRed color as the Galaxy S25 will be introduced at Unpacked.
Whether this new product is the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is unclear. Samsung hasn't released a red Flip phone since the Galaxy Z Flip 4 Bespoke Edition, which had a very limited reach in only a few markets.
Exynos 2500 SoC or not. Samsung doesn't yet know
Lastly, Samsung still hasn't figured out whether the Exynos 2500 chip will play any role in the launch of the upcoming foldable phones.
One possibility is that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 series will feature the Exynos 2500 chip. More so, the recent report states that Samsung is strongly considering the adoption of the Exynos 2500 chip exclusively, without dividing the 2026 foldable phone lineup between the Exynos and Qualcomm brands.
The adoption or abandonment of the Exynos 2500 chip will likely have a massive impact on the future of the 2nm Exynos 2600 SoC. Samsung may want to do everything in its power to implement the Exynos 2500 chip in a flagship phone this year to ensure that the Exynos 2600 has a greater chance of success.
The ongoing Galaxy Z Flip 6 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm, and so far, Samsung has never used the Exynos brand of chips for its foldable phones. The Z7 lineup could be the first.
