Samsung has released a new update to its SmartThings app on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It makes Samsung's TVs and soundbars more useful in your modern connected home. You can broadcast things to your family members via soundbars and change channels based on Routines.
Samsung's soundbars now support audio broadcasts, Routines can launch Samsung TV Plus channels

The latest SmartThings update for Galaxy (and other Android) phones and tablets brings four new features listed below.
- Broadcasts to soundbars and speakers: You can broadcast your voice or typed text to your Samsung soundbars and speakers (like the Music Frame), including groups.
- Limit notifications from SmartThings: You can set times at which the SmartThings app can send you notifications.
- Launch Samsung TV Plus channels via Routines: You can set up Routines (automation rules) in the SmartThings app that will tune your TV to launch a particular channel on Samsung TV Plus on your TV or smart monitor.
- Create Routines based on sleep and wake-up times: You can create SmartThings Routines (automation rules) where your sleep and wake-up conditions act as triggers.
