Oceanhorn’s Latest Installment Lands on Android

A while back, we got word that game developer FDG Games was working on a new title within the Oceanhorn series, called “Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon.” The game was initially announced for multiple platforms including Android, iOS, and Steam, and it looks like it’s now live on the Google Play Store.

The game is a direct sequel to Oceanhorn 2, although it does come with considerable difference when compared to the first two titles—you get retro-styled pixel graphics, a new leveling system, multiple characters, and support for co-op dungeon-crawler gameplay. The game also comes with in-app purchases, although they are relatively cheap (we’re assuming these unlock the full game).

The launch of the very first Oceanhorn game for mobile devices many years ago came during a time when more and more developers were bringing over “console” gaming experiences to smartphones, albeit at the cost of being labelled as a Legend of Zelda clone due to similarities in design and gameplay, which carried over to its sequel. With that in mind, it’s quite interesting to see the series head into a different genre this time around.

You can check out Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon on the Google Play Store.
