This is the last major software update for the Galaxy S21 series, as it was launched in early 2021 with Android 11 onboard. In the future, the phones will just get security patches for one year from now.

What is new with One UI 7.0 on Galaxy S21?

One UI 7.0 introduces a major UI redesign, featuring new app icons for stock apps, a new widgets styling, and more playful and smoother animations and transitions. It also brings a new battery icon and more beautiful charging animations. Notifications and Quick Panel now have their separate pages, accessible by swiping down from the top left and top right respectively.

You can add Large Folders to the home screen and the app drawer scrolls vertically. You can switch back to the horizontal scrolling method, though. There is a Now Bar that displays ongoing and live activities, like media playback, stopwatch, and timer.

Each notification now has a bigger entryin the Notifications area. If there are multiple notifications from the same app, they are stacked on top of one another.

You can access Google's Gemini AI by pressing and holding the phone's power/side button. Samsung Calendar, Samsung Clock, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder apps now intergrate with Gemini. Google's Circle To Search feature has also been enhanced.

The stock Camera app has received a huge redesign. All the necessary and frequently-accessed camera controls are now closer to your fingers, whether you are hold it in landscope or portrait mode. The built-in image editor now allows you to edit freeform collages and collages in Stories.

One UI 7 brings more power saving and battery protection features to the Galaxy S21 series. Quick Share can continue over a cellular connection if a Wi-Fi network is not available. Things like the built-in Calendar app, Samsung's video player, and Smart Select have also been improved.
