The “green line” issue on some Samsung phones has been well documented since last year. A vertical green or pink line can appeal on the display panel for no apparent reason. There's no fix for it other than getting the screen replaced, which can be a costly job.
Samsung India has been offering free screen replacement for the Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy S21 FE, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra for about a year now. It was supposed to end on December 31st, 2024, but the company has now extended the claim period until September 30th, 2025.
This might very well be the last extension to the deadline
When this issue had originally surfaced last year, Samsung India had committed to providing a free screen replacement until September 30th, 2024. It later extended the timeline to December 31st, 2024.
Those who had missed the previous deadline would have assumed that they'd need to pay for the replacement now, since Samsung didn't officially communicate an extension. However, it appears that Samsung India's support channels have confirmed that the period has been extended until the end of September this year.
While the full list of devices eligible the free replacement hasn't been shared by support, it's likely going to be the same as it has always been, covering the entire Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy S21 FE, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
When this free screen replacement campaign was first announced, the terms clarified that while customers would get the screen panel for free, they'd still have to pay for the labor charges. The original purchase bill of the device would also need to be presented at Samsung's customer care center to avail the service. Those terms are likely still in force.
It's hard to say if the deadline would be extended any further so if you've still not had the screen replaced after suffering from the green line issue, best to get a jump on things now.
