Samsung rarely talked about Good Lock on its newsroom platforms in recent years, but with the launch of One UI 7, things might be changing. Today, Samsung published a Good Lock-centric blog post on the Global Newsroom portal, breaking a period of silence of four years.
Since Good Lock is region-locked as of this writing (and Samsung's blog post), it's almost like the tech giant is rubbing salt into a very old wound. Thankfully, the blog post is almost a reminder that the powerful customization tool should soon be out globally and relieve us of our suffering.
How soon? Samsung hasn't yet mentioned a precise global launch date for Good Lock, but our wait should be nearly over. Everyone hopes the customization platform will go live worldwide around the time the stable One UI 7 update reaches the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 in more markets.
The most powerful customization tool for Galaxy users bar none
Samsung's Global Newsroom blog post states that “With the One UI 7 update, this must-have app now delivers an even more versatile suite of user interface (UI) customization features tailored to individual preferences.” The company then proceeds to detail one of the more versatile Good Lock modules, i.e., Home Up, running on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

At the moment, the stable One UI 7 update is available for the Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 only in Korea. However, it should soon expand into the US, Europe, India, and many more regions. Most markets are expected to receive One UI 7 tomorrow, April 10. Others will receive the update from April 14.
In theory, a Good Lock global release shouldn't be far. And Samsung publishing a Good Lock story on the Global Newsroom portal hints at this possibility. But, you never know. Samsung's One UI 7 launch schedule has already caused enough doubts.
Nevertheless, it's worth noting that, before today, the last time Samsung spoke about Good Lock on the Global Newsroom portal was in July 2021. And here's another fun fact: You can count the number of Good Lock blog posts on the Global Newsroom on the fingers of one hand. Unless Samsung removed some entries, there are only five Good Lock posts on Global Newsroom. The oldest one dates back to June 2018.
We're really hoping this new Samsung article aimed at the global community is an indication that the global Good Lock launch is just around the corner. We've been waiting for this platform to reach every Galaxy device user in the world for a long time. For years, we've advocated the global launch of Good Lock, and we couldn't be happier that Samsung is finally going to make this happen.
If you want to learn more about Good Lock, you should check out the SamMobile YouTube channel, where we recently posted a series of videos that detail various Good Lock modules and their capabilities.
