Samsung will likely return to New York for the next Unpacked event

By now, you probably know that Samsung officially teased its upcoming next-gen foldable phones early this morning. They will debut at Galaxy Unpacked, but Samsung's teaser hasn't uncovered anything new about the event's schedule or location.

However, New York City was brought up as a potential location by a rumor in April. Today, more reports from Korea (via BusinessKorea) and China (via Ijiwei) lend more credibility to it.

These new reports state that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will debut in New York City in early July. The Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch lineup, along with the first Fan Edition Flip phone, is also expected to be present on stage.

Assuming the rumors are true, this won't be the first time Samsung picked the USA's most iconic city for a Galaxy Unpacked event. Far from it.

The last time Samsung hosted a launch event in New York was in 2022, when the company introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.

However, that particular Galaxy Unpacked event was virtual. Looking further back, the last time Samsung hosted Galaxy Unpacked on the big stage in New York was in 2019, when the Galaxy Note 10 made its debut.

Up to now, Samsung never went to New York for any other foldable phone launch apart from the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. This year would mark the second time.

It's a fitting location, considering Samsung's apparent ambitions to elevate the foldable phone series with significant camera upgrades, bigger screens, specially tailored Galaxy AI features, and the addition of the first Fan Edition model.

Regardless of where Samsung decides to host the event, we will likely be present on the show floor and be among the first to take the new Galaxy foldable phones for a test drive. Stay tuned for your hands-on content.
