Samsung will make one of Android's best safety features even better
One UI 8 could introduce customizable earthquake alerts
Earthquake detection is one of Android's best safety features. It uses crowdsourced accelerometer data from millions of Android phones to detect earthquakes and alert users a few seconds in advance. The feature has been around for years, and other Android manufacturers have left it largely untouched. With its upcoming Android 16-based One UI 8 skin, Samsung plans to roll out its own version of Earthquake warnings with several improvements.
