There's a lot of health and fitness related data being evaluated between your Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Ring, and Galaxy smartphone. Samsung has built many AI-backed features to deliver personalized health and wellness tips, but it's now looking to kick things up a notch.
Samsung has revealed that it's building a new health hub of sorts that will make it easier for you to share data analyzed from various Samsung devices with your doctor. It will also help you stay on top of guidance from your doctor between visits.
It seeks to deliver highly precise guidance backed by your doctor's input
Doctors often provide recommendations or suggestions during appointments but unless they're taking notes, the patients can forget about them or lose the motivation to stick to the plan.
SVP and head of Samsung MX's Digital Health Team Dr. Hon Pak told Bloomberg today that Samsung is developing a solution to reduce that disconnect, pool data from various Galaxy devices into a central locations for doctors, and provide users with reminders to keep up with the goals provided by their doctors.
Devices like the Galaxy Watch already provide generalized recommendations to be active or move around if you've been sitting still for a while, but with this new solution, the company will be able to deliver precise motivation for health goals backed by a doctor's input.
“There are a lot of innovations out there but it’s siloed,” Pak said, adding that “We think there’s a responsibility and a potential for bringing the experience into an ecosystem so that the users have a more simple experience rather than having 10 different apps to manage your condition.”
Pak did clarify that this new health hub isn't going to be launched for a while, so we'll have to wait and see how it materialized. Samsung did announce some new health and fitness features today that are coming with One UI 8 Watch. They include the Antioxidant Index, Bedtime Guidance, Running Coach, and Vascular Load.
