Following what appears to be a partial outage for countless users worldwide, Spotify is now working to address a technical issue which has prevented users from accessing their music and playlists on the app. Spotify users from the US, UK and several regions in Europe complained that they were unable to search for music or view artists via the app.

Spotify acknowledged the outage in its social media pages, stating that it was working on a fix. It also shut down rumors of a “security hack” that supposedly caused the outage. Offline play seemed to work fine for users, however features that required internet connectivity failed to work properly. I myself was not able to open the desktop app, although at the moment the issue seems to have been resolved.
A the time of writing however, it seems that most of the issues have been ironed out, with users being able to access online app features again.
