Samsung is going to expand its 2025 Galaxy M lineup with a more budget alternative to the newly-released Galaxy M56. The upcoming Galaxy M36 has just appeared in the online benchmark Geekbench, and the phone is following a similar chipset strategy as its beefier sibling.
What we mean by this is that the Galaxy M36 won't have the same SoC as the Galaxy A36. Instead, it will use the Exynos 1380 chip, which is found under the hood of the last-gen Galaxy A35.
This rings familiar. It's the same path Samsung walked on for the new Galaxy M56. The M56 uses the same Exynos 1480 chip as the last-gen Galaxy A55.
Other Galaxy M36 specs revealed by the online benchmark include 6GB of RAM and Android 15. Additional memory options will most likely be available at launch. And the Galaxy M36 will indeed run One UI 7 out of the box and could offer support for 6 OS upgrades, just like the M56 does.

Geekbench hasn't revealed much else about the Galaxy M36, but judging by its predecessor, it should at least offer a Super AMOLED 120Hz display, a 50MP primary camera along with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a macro sensor. The phone will possibly be powered by a 6,000mAh battery.
Pricing details are unknown, but you can be sure that the Galaxy M36 will be cheaper than the Galaxy M56. The latter went on sale in India today for INR 27,999 ($327).
