Find My Device in Galaxy phone settings may change to Find Hub

Last month, Google renamed its Find My Device service to Find Hub, and later, released an update to the Find My Device app for Android, which changed its name to Find Hub.

Well, Google is rolling out an update to Google Play Services for Android. Carrying version 25.20.37, it changes mentions of Find My Device in the OS Settings to Find Hub.

Latest Google Play Services update changes Find My Device in Android settings to Find Hub

Currently, on Android devices with the stock version of the OS, Google's Pixel devices, and a few other Android devices, when you go to Settings » Security & Privacy » Device Finders, you will see Find My Device. However, after installing the Google Play Services update, it will change to Find Hub, as you can see in the screenshots below from 9To5Google.

Unfortunately, on Samsung smartphones and tablet, even after installing the latest version of Google Play Services (version 25.20.37), the changes aren’t visible. More specifically, when you go to Settings » Google » All Services, you will still see Find My Device instead of Find Hub.  So, it looks like Google is offering the new name as a server-side change.

To get the latest version of Google Play Services on your Samsung device, go to Settings » Apps » Google Play Services » App details in Store, which should take you to the app’s listing on the Google Play Store, and if there’s an update available for it, you should see the Update button below the app's name. Tap on it to get the update.

Usually, Google offers changes that it makes to Android and its related components first to the brand's Pixel devices, and later, to Android devices from other companies, including Samsung. So, even though the change isn't visible yet, we expect the brand to change that soon.
