Galaxy M55 updated to Android 15 and One UI 7

After the Galaxy A55 received One UI 7 a few days ago, Galaxy M55 users were waiting for the update as well and wondering when it will arrive for their phones. And that day is finally here, as Samsung has released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy M55.

The Android 15-based One UI 7 update is now avaialble for the Galaxy M55 in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It comes with firmware version M556BXXU4BYE7 and has a download size of around 3.5GB. It also brings the May 2025 security patch to the mid-range smartphone to make it more secure than earlier.

If you have a Galaxy M55 and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you should check for the update on your phone right away. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. After the update is finished downloading, tap the Install Now button. The phone will then restart after a few minutes and you can use One UI 7.0.

You can also use the manual firmware flashing method. But you need to be well-versed in the process or you risk soft-bricking your phone. You need to download the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and use a computer running Windows OS and the Odin tool to flash the firmware manually. Make sure to back up all your important data and files before initiating this process.

The Galaxy M55 was launched in early 2024 with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 onboard. One UI 6.1.1-based update brought additional features to the phone. Now, the phone has received the Android 15-based One UI 7 update that introduces a major UI design revamp, new and improved features, Gemini as the default AI assistant, improved privacy and security, and smoother animations and transitions.
