If you have a carrier-locked Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, or Galaxy S24 Ultra in the United States of America, there’s some good news for you. Samsung is rolling out a software update to these devices that improves their security.
This software update brings the June 2025 security patch, which fixes many security issues. It carries firmware version S92xUSQS4BYF2. Samsung has already offered this upgrade to the international variants of the phones.
If you are not sure which version of the Galaxy S24 you have, you can check that by going to Settings » About phone. In the model name, if you see SM-S921U, SM-S926U, or SM-S928U, then you have the carrier-locked variant of the phone for the USA. You can also check those details on your phone’s retail box.
There are two ways you can update your Galaxy S24 to the latest firmware. First, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Second, download the firmware from the internet onto a Windows PC and use Samsung’s Odin tool to install it on your device. One of the places you can download the firmware is our firmware section.
Samsung is also testing Android 16-based One UI 8.0, and the Galaxy S24 is eligible to get the update. Unfortunately, there’s no information about when the brand will release it.
