After releasing the One UI 7 update for its high-end phones and tablets, Samsung has shifted its focus on low-end and mid-range devices. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) has become the latest Samsung mid-range tablet to get the Android 15 (One UI 7.0) update.
Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) gets Android 15 and One UI 7.0
A major new software update is rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) (SM-P620) in South Korea. It brings Android 15 and One UI 7.0 to the device. It comes bearing firmware version P620XXU5BYE5 and includes the May 2025 security patch to the tablet. It has a download size of around 3GB, which makes it a pretty big update.
The update could be released in other countries and regions in the next few days.

If you have a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) and live in South Korea, you should now check for the new software update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap the Install button. Your device will restart after a few minutes, and you can start using the new software.
It is the first big software update to arrive on the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024). The mid-range tablet was launched in early 2024 with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software. It will get four major Android OS updates, and Android 15 (One UI 7.0) is the first of those updates. It will get three more major Android OS updates in the future.
What is new with One UI 7.0 on Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024)?
One UI 7.0 brings a redesigned UI, featuring smoother and more playful animations. It has two separate pages for Notifications and Quick Panel, but you can merge them through Quick Panel settings. Quick Panel is now more customizable. Notifications now appear in bigger layouts, and multiple notifications from the same app are now stacked on behind the other.
It also brings new app icons for all stock apps, a new battery icon in the status bar, and new battery charging animations.

Samsung has also introduced new lock screen customization options, more lock screen and home screen widgets, and a new widget styling for the home screen. The app drawer now scrolls vertically, and you can add Large Folders to the home screen.
One UI 7.0 also includes a new Camera app design, featuring improved one-handed usability. It also brings the Now Bar that shows ongoing activities, such as live sports scores or a live timer. You can access Gemini by long pressing the power button.
