Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Watch 8: Rumor Roundup Before Unpacked 2025

With Galaxy Unpacked set for July 9, Samsung is gearing up to unveil its latest generation of foldables and wearables. Leaks and certifications have already painted a fairly clear picture of what to expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8. If you’re considering an upgrade, now’s the perfect time to catch up on what’s coming.

Samsung appears to be going all-in on refinement this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to be the thinnest and lightest Fold yet, possibly measuring as slim as 3.9mm when unfolded. Leaked renders show a sleeker hinge design and rounder corners that better match the look of the Galaxy S25 series. The device is expected to sport an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer screen with support for ProScaler and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

Under the hood, the Z Fold 7 should run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and include 12GB of RAM with up to 1TB of storage. While the battery may remain unchanged at 4,400mAh, the more efficient chipset could still improve battery life. The biggest leap might come from the camera setup, which could include a 200MP main sensor borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung may also introduce a redesigned S Pen, although rumors are split on whether the Fold 7 will still support stylus input.

Expect the starting price to stay at $1,899, same as last year. However, quantities may be more limited, so pre-orders could go quickly.

Samsung’s clamshell foldable is also expected to get some notable improvements. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will reportedly increase its cover display size to 4 inches, up from 3.4 inches, making it significantly more usable when closed. The internal display might also grow slightly to 6.85 inches. Both screens are expected to maintain a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance, though the outer display may still be capped at 60Hz.

The biggest internal upgrade could be the new Exynos 2500 chipset, although some regions might receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead. RAM and storage configurations are likely to remain the same, with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. On the downside, camera hardware may remain unchanged, featuring a 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP front shooter. However, improvements to Samsung’s ProVisual Engine could help deliver better results from the same sensors.

Battery life should see a boost thanks to a bump in capacity to 4,300mAh. This addresses one of the most common complaints about the Flip series, especially for heavy users. The price is expected to match last year’s starting point of around $999.

Samsung’s next smartwatch series, including the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, is shaping up to deliver a smarter, more health-focused experience. Leaks suggest the Watch 8 Classic will blend the design of the Watch 6 Classic with the Watch Ultra, featuring a “squircle” case and a physical rotating bezel. The 46mm Classic will include a 1.5-inch display, and both models will run the new One UI 8 Watch software.

Internally, Samsung is expected to use the Exynos W1000 chip, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Other expected specs include 10W fast charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and MIL-STD-810H durability. Health tracking sees a big upgrade with features like vascular load monitoring, antioxidant index tracking, and an AI-powered health coach. Samsung has also confirmed Gemini integration, which will bring advanced AI features to Wear OS, including smart suggestions, inbox summaries, and real-time voice queries.

Pricing remains unclear, but it will likely follow previous launches, putting the standard model in the $300–$350 range and the Classic model closer to $400.
