Galaxy S25 FE zoom camera will bore you, here’s why

The Galaxy S25 FE camera setup will offer the same zoom capabilities as all of its predecessors, according to GalaxyClub. Samsung has reportedly equipped the Galaxy S25 FE with an 8MP telephoto camera capable of 3x optical zoom.

Based on the information available at the time of writing, it seems Samsung will only upgrade the selfie camera on the S25 FE. The Fan Edition Galaxy S25 model will feature a 12MP front camera instead of the 10MP camera found on the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy S24 FE, though it is unknown if this new sensor is the same one that adorns the front side of all non-FE Galaxy S smartphones launched since 2023.

Of course, with the Galaxy S25 Edge now in the picture, many will happily forgive Samsung for using the same old zoom camera on yet another Fan Edition device. And it's not like that 8MP 3x camera is bad. While non-FE Galaxy S smartphones feature a 10MP 3x zoom camera, the difference in picture quality between them and their FE counterparts isn't very large.

As for the other cameras, the Galaxy S25 FE should feature a 50MP main shooter and a 12MP ultrawide lens. Samsung is also saving a processor upgrade for another day — the Galaxy S24 FE's Exynos 2400e chip will power the S25 FE as well.
