Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE may be released alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 after all

It's widely known now that Samsung is going to introduce its first “FE” or Fan Edition branded foldable flip phone later this year. The device will reportedly be called the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and will follow the same formula that we've seen on Samsung's Galaxy S FE devices.

Earlier reports had suggested that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE might not be released at the same time as the Galaxy Z Flip 7, even if the devices are unveiled at the same event. New information suggests that Samsung might put both devices on the market at the same time.

The earlier view was informed by what Samsung does with the Galaxy S series. The flagship models are released earlier in the year whereas the FE models arrive in the second half of the year. This prevents the cheaper model from potentially eating into the sales of the flagship lineup.

It's understandable that the same concern would exist for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 as well, since the price difference between the two models wouldn't likely be more than a couple of hundred dollars. Thus the risk of the cheaper model compromising the 2025 flagship clamshell flip phone's sales would ring true.

However, according to a tipster on X, live demo units for the new foldable phones have entered production together. This would suggest that the units are going to be put on store floors at the same time, otherwise Samsung wouldn't probably be making them together.

More clarity on the matter should emerge over the coming weeks as we get closer to the launch. While Samsung hasn't confirmed when the Unpacked event will take place, if history is any indication, we may see it happen in late July/early August.
