Galaxy Z Flip 7 rival finally gets dust resistance

Motorola has been Samsung's longest rival in the flip-style foldable smartphone segment. The company has been launching Galaxy Z Flip rivals since 2019. And of late, it has been getting pretty good at it. Its upcoming foldable Razr device will finally have a dust resistance rating to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is launching in the second half of this year, will face a tough competitor in the form of the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra. Based on the images posted by leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks), the Razr 60 Ultra appears to have an upper hand in most specifications, at least looking at the leaked information and images of the phone.

As you can see below, the phone also appears to feature dust and water resistance, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Its predecessor, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra has an IPX8 rating, which means it lacks dust resistance. So, the Razr 60 Ultra is an upgrade in terms of durability.

The phone has a 4-inch edge-to-edge cover screen that spans across the dual-camera setup. It also features a 7-inch foldable screen. It has stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. It features a 50MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB RAM, and up to 1TB storage. It will run Android 15 out of the box and get three major Android OS updates (up to Android 18).

As we exclusively reported earlier, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will come with Android 16 and One UI 8.0 out of the box and get seven major Android OS updates (up to Android 23), so Samsung's upcoming flip phone will have a considerable lead over the Razr 60 Ultra.

The Razr 60 Ultra appears to be powered by a 4,700mAh battery, which is 400mAh higher than the Galaxy Z Flip 7's 4,300mAh battery. It also features 68W fast charging, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to have 25W fast charging.

Motorola's upcoming flip phone seems to have better camera hardware, more RAM and storage, a bigger battery, and faster charging. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a much longer software update promise. But is the software enough to forego better specifications
