Samsung revamps QD-OLED brand to represent its innovative DNA

QD-OLED display panels are among some of the best products that Samsung Display makes. These panels are used for high-end TVs and gaming monitors, from both Samsung Electronics and other manufacturers.

This premium display technology is getting a brand refresh from Samsung. The conglomerate's display-making affiliate has announced today that it's launching a new brand identity for QD-OLED that better represents the innovative nature of this display technology.

Samsung gives the QD-OLED logo a makeover

Samsung is going to register the new brand identity for QD-OLED, which includes a new logo, as a trademark. This revamp will serve as Samsung's ongoing commitment to create superior display solutions. The new logo prominently highlights the letter “Q” from QD-OLED.

In addition to this enhanced visual representation of the letter, the logo also incorporates a blue color that represents the blue OLED technology. The gradient color effect on the logo wraps things up nicely by paying homage to the display technology's distinctive wide color spectrum.

Samsung Display's QD-OLED technology is in its fourth-generation. The company unveiled earlier this year that its latest panels deliver peak brightness of over 4,000 nits. The new panels are thus more than 30% brighter than last year's QD-OLEDs.

Samsung Display introduced its QD-OLED technology back in late 2021. To date, it has been used in more than 170 products from major manufacturers across the globe, including Samsung Electronics, Dell, MSI, Sony, ASUS, and HP.

The company will now work to promote its new brand identity through collaboration with its global clients, showcasing the new visual identity at major trade shows and also through its product packaging.
